  • I started my enquiries about the family tree in 1996 and discovered our early ancestors. I continued with the Joseph line. In 2000 Maurice Carr from Tipperary got in contact with me and I in turn got in contact with his Cousin Susie Carr in Australia and we compiled the Maurice line of the tree from there. I was able to place most of the Thomas line and was helped when my son Brian found that he was working with one of Thomas's great grandchildren and that filled in the rest. There is a lot of work now to do to trace backwards from the early 1800's.
    My mother and father both came from Cobh. When they got married they moved to Cork. My mother decided to have each of her children born in Cobh and that is our only claim to fame. We lived in a semi detached house in a cul de sac of 32 houses on the south side of Cork city suburbs. The address was Marlogue, Bendemeer park, Magazine road, Cork. We had very happy times there with the best neighbours that anyone could wish for.
