James was born in 1925. James' father was Maurice Frederic Carr and his mother was Isobella Clinch. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Carr and Margaret Cotter. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Maurice, Thomas, Evelyn, Margaret, Sheila, Isobella and Sarah. He died at the age of 77 on December 15th, 2002.

- Known to his family as Seamus. Born in Dublin and moved to Manchester with his parents and family when he was 8/9 years old.
